The brainchild of racing driver John Cooper, the Mini Cooper S was launched in 1963 in order to homologate the model for Group 2 rally racing. The S variant received upgrades over the standard model, including dual fuel tanks for long-range rally driving, uprated front disc brakes, and wider wheels.

According to its British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, this extraordinary Cooper S was supplied new by Colmore Depot Ltd. of Birmingham, UK. The Mini was later part of a select run of 15 cars restored by Cooper S guru Scott Turner for JD Classics, who retailed them for approximately £70,000. Scott has won international acclaim for his concours-winning restorations, which set standards for authenticity, and each car was completed to exacting standards. The consignor passed his driving test in a Mini Cooper in 1966 and spent a determined three years searching for the perfect example; he is convinced that this is likely the finest of its type.

Finished from new in the incredibly rare color combination of Fiesta Yellow with an Old English White roof and Powder Blue interior, it is accompanied by its buff logbook, BMIHT certificate, and original steering wheel. Fittingly offered on the 60th anniversary of the model, this exceptional example of the seminal Mini Cooper S deserves your closest inspection.
